Our team is experts in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic and sports injuries and utilizes the most advanced tools and technology to get you back on your feet.

Marissa Smith, MD, MS
Dr. Smith is a Board Certified Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician specializing in the non-surgical management of musculoskeletal injuries. Her special interests include prevention of sports injuries and pediatric sports medicine.
Dr. Smith earned her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology prior to earning her Medical Degree at West Virginia University.
-Dr. Smith completed her Residency Training in Pediatrics at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT. She then remained on faculty there for three years as a Pediatric Attending Physician in the Emergency Department. Dr. Smith went on to complete her Sports Medicine Fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City where she worked with high school, college and professional athletes.
Rolando Lopez, PAC
Mr. Lopez received his physician assistant education from Stonybrook University in New York and completed his graduate studies from New York University, New York, New York. He has been with OSM for over fifteen years and continues to use his knowledge to help many patients everyday as a valuable memeber of our team.
John Carravone, PAC
John joined OSM in May of 2009. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine from Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire in 1991. He completed his Physician’s Assistant degree from Touro College in Dix Hills, NY in 1998.
Michael Hann, PAC
Michael joined OSM in October of 2012. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from The University of Delaware and his Master of Science degree from Ohio University. He completed his Physician Assistant degree from Quinnipiac University in 2012.
John Napolitano, PAC
-John is a Trumbull native who completed his undergraduate degree at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh
-PA and his Bachelors of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, NY.
He has been practicing Neurosurgery and spine surgery for 12 years and Orthopedics for over 3 years. He has also practiced Emergency medicine at The Hospital of St. Raphael’s and at Bridgeport Hospital. He is currently adjunct faculty at the University of Bridgeport Physician Assistant Institute. He also does educational and consultant work for surgical companies.
When he has a second free, he enjoys golf, skiing, coaching little league, and playing with his 3 kids.
Jonathan Pinto, PAC
Mr. Pinto was born and raised in Hamden, CT.
-Graduated from Hamden High School in 1992.
-He attended UCONN at Storrs, graduating in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.
-Returned to Quinnipiac University Graduate PA program, graduating in 2004 with a Masters of Health Science in Physician Assistant studies.
-Mr. Pinto started off as a physical therapist in Waterbury, CT as an inpatient/outpatient therapist, with a focus on inpatient orthopaedics and trauma. During his time spent there, he developed a keen interest in the surgical side of orthopaedics and was advised by some great physician assistants to return to school for an advanced degree.
-Mr. Pinto’s background of physical therapy naturally led him to the field of orthopaedics and started working at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT in September of 2004 and has not looked back since. Mr. Pinto’s knowledge and skills continued to grow and thrive under the guidance of a great group of orthopaedic surgeons and physician assistants, advancing his skills in the operating suite, the emergency department, as well as at the bedside.
-As a seasoned physician assistant in orthopaedics, he embraces the controlled chaos of the hospital setting and remains most interested in acute trauma, reconstructive surgery, and advances in joint replacement. Working alongside a group of skilled orthopaedic surgeons, he is now a member of the OSM team as one of the physician assistants for the OSM STAT clinic and has further broadened his skills in this diverse setting.
-During his time as a PA, he has participated in the education of future PA’s by being a preceptor for clinical rotations as well as an adjunct faculty for both the Yale University PA program and University of Bridgeport PA Institute.
Mr. Pinto lives locally in Monroe with his wife and twin boys and continues to enjoy the work he does everyday in helping others.

Douglas J. Ward, PAC is a physician assistant with the Greater Hartford Orthopedic Group with a specialty in orthopedic surgery.

Dan Marchetti, PAC
Mr. Marchetti joined OSM in October of 2013.
-Received his Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Fitness from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1991.
-Received his Master of Health Science degree along with completion of the Physician’s Assistant program from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut in 1997.
